I'm a big fan of this watch. I've been on the lookout for a reasonably priced sub-second dial, and this fit the bill. The watch styling is classic and timeless, but in a larger, modern size (40mm). The numerals, markers and branding on the face are crisp and easy to read. The case is well finished too, with a nice polish to boot. The metal band is well-constructed, just not my taste. The fluting was just too busy and made the watch look dated. I changed it out with a plain black leather band and was much happier.My only real complaint was that the band pins were bent up and hard to remove. Not a big deal though, unless you're going to remove the band. Sometimes metal bands put up a fight when you're trying to install them. I've run into more expensive watches with the same issue and solved it with 25 cents worth of pins.The look of this watch is quite good for its price point, and that's the best thing it has going for it. It's a good size, the face looks nice, and it keeps accurate time. However, my main problem with this watch is the clasp. It has two individual clasps on the back that hold the watch band closed while it's on your wrist, which makes it look nice since the clasps are concealed under the band. One of these clasps on the watch I received does not secure tightly which means it came undone repeatedly as I was wearing the watch. The other reviewers did not mention anything about this so I assume I received a defective watch, but it isn't a good sign for their quality control. If I had one other complaint about the watch it would be that it's a little light for its size, but not to the point where it feels fragile. All in all the watch looks nice but I'll be returning it (possibly for an exchange of the same watch) due to the fact that I'm always worried about it falling off my wrist.this is a great looking watch.it caught my eye as soon as i first saw it and i like the way it looks and feels on my wrist.i like the clean and simple german design,not as busy as so many other watch makers.the 40mm size is a little big for my taste.i would prefer 30 to 35mm but bigger seems to be the style these days with some other watch makers going as big as 50 to 55mm. but what bothers me is i bought this watch in october for 97 dollars and i see it now for 67 dollars.that really chaps my ass.does amazon price match itself?I purchased this watch for my husband. The watch is really great looking and fits well on his wrist. The watch ban is of very good quality leather. I selected this watch due to the watch dial color and facing, which is a feature I know my husband prefers. Furthermore, from my perspective, the watch looks much better in hand than the picture shown on the web site. I wished it had the month/date feature, which (was not advertised), but would have made the watch 5 star based upon my husbands input. So far, it keeps excellent time. I would recommend this watch.Really nice looking watch. Professional, clean, good quality, great packaging.My only complaint is that the links were so difficult to change out I had to go to a professional service to get it undone. It was really a hassle, and had to pay an extra $20 just to adjust the band. For the price, it's not really worth the effort, but in the end I have the watch I was after.I really liked how this watch looked. It was comfortable and had a real nice weight to it. But something must have happened in shipping because the box the watch was in was broken. The top was basically ripped right off the bottom. Then when I tried setting the time the crown pulled right out. It was really easy to do so. I barely pulled. So just be careful when you buy this watch. To start the second hand going only pull the crown out a little (and I mean a little. Just barely out from the case) and the same goes for setting the minute hand. Don't pull it out far. Unfortunately I had to return this watch but I would buy it again in hopes that things weren't broken.This is a nicely made classic watch. The case details finnish are excellent , not excellent for this price simply excellent. The detail on the dial is very good and well fit. The band is good quality and should hold up well. The 40mm case size makes it easy to read and comfortable to wear and puts it nicely jn the everyday catagory. While my traditional dress watches are 36 mm or 38 mm, I wouldn't be uncomfortable wearing this for dress. So I have to agree with many other thatmthe quality and workmanship is much better than you'd expect at this price point and nicer than expected for an everyday watch.Came with partly broken band - "German quality" my a**.Really bulky - as big as my automatic Seagull timepiece, and that is just silly considering that Rudiger utilize quartz movement.Yes Rudiger's price tag looks like bargan, but thats about it. No more pros, and for sure - nothing is particularly German about it.Update: One month of active, daily use and no scratches, or sings of wear on glass and case.Better then I expected. One more star for that.First impression, good. Do not buy if you do not like heavy…Workmanship is German, perfect (Seiko, inside, they say): clasp, even without push buttons, is easy to handle, not like my Bulova (I had to adjust it with the plyers…); easy readable, shiny hands and markers ketch glimpses of light in any position; bracelet seems to be solid, good quality and long enough, for any wrist (8.5”). easy to shorten, if needed; for a few hours (I just got it), keeps time to the second.Overall, feels and looks good. I only paid for it $99!I like it very much and I would recommend it to a friend!
