I got a 2x which is my normal shirt size and this coat is big enough for me to wear 2 hoodies underneath, but that would only be necessary for negative temps. This bad boy keeps me warm down to temps around 10 degrees by itself. With long sleeves I’m comfortable and if it does get too hot, you can unzip this and there are like 5-6 of those metal buttons, so sometimes I’ll just button the middle one to keep it together and still have a little ventilation.There are 2 negatives I have to say about this.-The zipper goes up all the way smooth, but about 6 inches from the top right around the neck, the zipper is kind of bent so I have to pull extra hard or straighten it out at that part to get it unzipped. I think it’s a manufacture defect, but I only got this one so I don’t know for sure.- cuffs have elastic that will stretch, but you cannot tighten them, so I have to spread my hand or reach out to pull the sleeves up.Big pockets, I lose my keys in there all the time. Also a good size on the left breast pocket too. They all zip which is fantastic.The front pockets are big enough to easily hold a hat in one side and a pair of gloves in the other. One inner pocket which also zips easily holds a pair of glasses on the left chest. The overall construction of the coat seemed to be slightly thinner than I hoped it would be but it seems warm enough anyway. When the top of the zipper goes to the top the neck seems not big enough for me to stick my whole face down into the front of the coat. The upper portion of the neck area pokes into the bottom of my chin a bit. The arms and elbow areas seem to have ample ability for me to move my arms and elbows and it not be too tight which i like. It's unlike the smaller, shorter puffy Adidas coat I had purchased and used the past 20+ years but it seems to be a good coat overall. I'm wearing it daily. He is 5’8” and weighs 175 pounds with an athletic build. He ordered a medium. It fit perfectly. The jacket kept him warm during a Canadian winter. Temperatures were as cold as minus 20 degrees Celsius. There was room under the jacket for a hoodie when temperatures got colder than that. Great winter jacket!
